In 2006, The V3 process was kicked off and the group assembled a list of problems to solve and new functionality to add. Each item on the laundry list fell into one of three categories: <\/p>\n

\n* Interoperability<\/p>\n

\n* Simplicity<\/p>\n

\n* Functionality<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\nWe can have any two. Describing a complete service with complete functionality can either be interoperable or simple. V2 achieves a certain balance but several
\ninteroperability issues and use cases are left as an exercise for the reader. Yet, the V3 working group de%uFB01ned interoperability as more important than the other two combined which led to %uFB01nding a new balance among these characteristics…<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
