These algorithms use a student&#8217;s response to an item as the basis for determining the next item to show them. \u00a0Curricular Collections implements\u00a0algorithms as plugins so it is easy to develop new algorithms and\u00a0includes analytics to help evaluate the validity and reliability of items in a collection.<\/p>\n<p>Curricular Collections was developed as a new platform\u00a0for\u00a0the Computer Adaptive Test for Reading Chinese (CATRC)\u00a0developed by Professor Tao-Chung (Ted) Yao of the University of Hawaii in 1990-1993 with a grant from the United States Department of Education. \u00a0The Segue Project instance of Curricular Collections also includes a Japanese placement exam developed by the University of Hawaii.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Curricular Collections a web application for creating collections of items whose presentation is determined by algorithms defined for each collection.
