Collections are containers of assets that have particular metadata schemas associated with them.
Collections have a display name, a description, and a unique id that identifies them. Assets in a given collection can be arranged hierarchically and have their hierarchy changed, but cannot be moved to another Collection. Thus a particular asset such as an image of a building may have sub-assets such as images of that building from various perspectives.
Each collection can be thought of as an archive or place to store and catalogue assets. If we think of Concerto as a museum, each collection would be a room in the storage building, with a good card-catalogue.
Users who are authorized to view the assets of a given collection may select any number of these assets and add them to a slide show in an exhibition
