Overview
| Any page of any site in Segue can be set up to function as a blog.
A given Segue site can have dozens of separate weblogs since a Segue page can consist of any number of independent, timestamped content blocks (text, images, file downloads), each of which can be made the subject of a discussion or assessment.
Blogs can be public or limited to the Middlebury community (faculty, staff and students), students in a given class, a group of participants from Middlebury and/or beyond…

A listing of recent posts can be created in the left or right sidebar simply by creating a sidebar RSS feed of the blog post page. As well a list of blog categories/tags can be displayed in the sidebar
These content blocks can be sorted by recent first or recent last, or can be sorted by user’s who added or edited them, sorted alphabetically or sorted by some custom ordering.
Finally these content blocks can be enabled for discussion.

To set a page up for blogging, do the following:
- When adding or editing page for blogging click on the link to Display Options
- Chose to display recent first
- Chose to show added timestamp and username of whoever creates content block.
(Optional choses can be to also show editor and edited timestamp)
- It is also recommended to limited the number of content blocks to display on a given page to 10 or 20
The above settings will allow creators to add new content blocks which will be displayed with the most recent first. In addition the time and date content blocks are added will be displayed as well as the name of the user who added the content block
An integral part of blogging is discussion by others of blog posts. To enable your posts for discussion do the following:
- When adding or editing blog posts (i.e. content blocks), click on the link to Discuss/Assess
- Check the box to enable discussion
- Check any other discussions/assessment options
- Chose who can discuss
New blog posts can be made by any user who has add and/or edit permission to the blog page. To give other users permission to add/edit blog posts, do the following:
- Click on Permissions button at the bottom of any page in your Segue site
- Click on Add editors button and find users you add as editors of your site
- Check boxes for each of your new editors and chose to Edit Permissions of Checked
- Check boxes for each of the sections and/or pages and/or content block you want your editors to be able to edit.
