Overview

Segue supports RSS 2.0 with enclosures. Podcasts can be created simply by uploading media files into File for Download content blocks. Whatever text is attached to the content block becomes the RSS item description.

Intersperse audio or video clips with with other blog posts, participants can grab RSS for chronological feeds of all posts, as well as just posts that have been categorized/tagged as "podcasts…"

Watch for the mergence of audio, video and text blogging, augmented by hierachical and associative contexts…

Podcasting with Segue

How to podcast…
To upload a media file for podcasting, do the following:

  1. Click on + add content
  2. Chose File for Download
  3. Click on the Media Library button
  4. From the Media Library window, click on the browse button and find your media file
  5. Click on the Upload button to add to your Media Library
  6. Click on the Use button to use this file
  7. Add a title and description
  8. Save changes

In order to automatically get your podcast, participants should copy the RSS feed url from the page that contains media files for download and copy this url into an RSS Reader or iTunes as follows:

  1. Right-click or control-click on the RSS/XML link or icon for your podcast page.
  2. Chose to Copy Link Location
  3. Go to iTunes and choose Advanced > Subscribe to Podcast
    (look for option to subscribe to feed in your RSS Reader of chose)
  4. Paste the RSS url (you copied above) into this window

iTunes or any RSS Reader will automatically download the media files in the RSS feed.
