This hierarchical organization is complemented by an associative system that allows creators (and editors) to associate any given content block with multiple tags much like del.ico.us<\/a> and Flickr<\/a>.  These categories\/tags are displayed along with the content block they are associated with and become links to all content block that share that category\/tag.  A list of all categories\/tags can also be displayed in the site sidebars.\n<\/div>\n

Hierachical Organization<\/h3>\n

The current version of Segue supports a three level navigational structure. This
\nmeans that a given site can be organized into sections<\/span> each of
\nwhich can contain any number of pages<\/span>. Pages in turn can contain any
\nnumber of independent timestamped content blocks<\/span> (text, images, file
\ndownloads) or can be content themselves. The content blocks of any given page can be sorted by recent first or
\nrecent last, or can be sorted by user’s who added or edited them,
\nsorted alphabetically or sorted by some custom ordering (see: Features > Weblogs<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Segue sections and pages are mapped to a navigational layout to provide a clear and consistent context. All sections of a site can be displayed horizontally across the top and bottom of a site or vertically in the left sidebar. Segue pages can be displayed in either the left or right sidebar<\/a> of the site and can be content themselves or RSS feeds<\/a> or dynamic lists of site categories<\/a> or participants<\/a> or containers for other content blocks. If the site’s sections are displayed in the left sidebar, then the pages of any given section appear directly below the section to which they belong.<\/p>\n

In addition to hierarchical organization of content, Segue also allows creators (and editors) to organize content into multiple categories<\/a> which can then be aggregated. This allows creators to make associations between content across hierarchically organized sections and pages.<\/p>\n

All content in Segue can be moved or copied to different nodes in the site hierarchy or to nodes in any other site. Authorization to do so is determined by any given user’s roles and permission.<\/p>\n

Sections:<\/span>
To add a new section of your site, use <\/span>+ add section<\/a>. To edit a section of your site, select the section and use edit<\/a>. To delete a section, select it and use del<\/a> to delete a section <\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Pages:<\/span>
To add a new page to your site, click on <\/span>+ add item<\/a>. To edit a page, select the page and click on <\/span>edit<\/a>. When adding or editing a page, users can chose to display the page in either the left or right sidebar. New Page<\/span> allows you to create a new page with any number of content blocks in the center area. Sidebar Content <\/span>allows you to display content in the sidebar areas (left or right). RSS Feed<\/span> allows you to display an RSS feed in the sidebar areas. Participant list<\/span> allows you to display a lists of all the participants in your site roster (e.g. students in class). Category<\/span> allows you to display all the categories\/tags you have used in your site as a list.

Use the arrow links <\/span>↑<\/a>↓<\/a> and ←<\/strong><\/a> →<\/strong><\/a> to reorder sections and pages.

Use the move links to move sections or pages to other locations in the site or to other sites.
