Dear Language Schools Faculty,
As you know, the current summer is the final semester in which you will be able to add new content to Segue. (After the end of this summer, Segue will become “Read-only”.) Middlebury is in the process of transitioning away from Segue to other courseware. In preparation for this, LIS is offering a series of training workshops for Language School faculty. Moodle and WordPress will be covered in the sessions. We will discuss background and theory (when to use what, how to transfer content, etc.), as well as offer hands-on training.
Several workshops will be offered in the Davis Family Library 105.

The Curricular Technology team has scheduled a number of open sessions on the Segue from Segue project in Library 145. Here are the dates and times:
These sessions are an opportunity for you to tell us about the kinds of technologies for teaching, learning and research you think Middlebury should invest in. We particularly encourage Language School faculty to stop by and give us feedback about your use of technology for teaching languages.
We will also discuss some of the ideas we have for alternatives to Segue including Moodle, Drupal, WordPress, Google Sites and MediaWiki.
A Segue from Segue advisory group (SAG) has been formed that includes of the following participants:
The purpose of this advisory group is to provide input and guidance to the Curricular Technology team that will help identify stakeholders and engage the college community in the process of selecting one or more replacements for Segue.
To help find platforms to replace Segue, the Library and Information Services (LIS) Curricular Technology team will be coordinating the formation of Segue from Segue focus groups. The goal of these focus groups is to understand how faculty teach and how they use the technologies currently available to them at Middlebury and beyond.
To ensure focus group discussions are manageable and productive, each session will be limited to 8-10 participants and session registration is required.
