 Below are links to various types of media files.  How these media files are handled by the web browser depends on:

• The browser
• The OS
• Media applications and plugins

Most browsers can be configured to use certain media applications or plugins to handle particular types of media files.  Internet Explorer is unique in that how it handles a given media file type is dependent on how the Windows OS is configured, not the browser….

Here is a link to the Measure, for most online placement exams (except the Chinese School).  Of online placement exams only the Russian and Chinese Schools will have students who need to take the exam at Middlebury.

To put audio files on your iPod, here are the steps

1. Click on link to the set of audio files you need to study (see above)
2. Save this file to your computer
3. Double-Click on this file lessonXX.zip (e.g. lesson1-6.zip) to decompress it
4. Drag the lesson1-6 folder from your computer into your iTunes library
5. Browse your iTunes library where:
   Genre = Language-French
   or
   Artist = French in Action
6. Connect your iPod to your computer.
7. Drag and drop the audio file(s) from your iTunes library to your iPod (see animation below)
