Video can be shared with others in a variety of ways on the web.  Video from sites like YouTube can be embedded in Segue and WordPress sites.  Middlebury also has its own video sharing service called MiddMedia where Middlebury faculty, staff and students can upload their own videos

MiddMedia

MiddMedia is a video storage and streaming service for the Middlebury community.  You can upload videos to MiddMedia via the MiddMedia site, WordPress or Segue.

Use MiddMedia when you want to share video of higher quality or videos that are longer than can be uploaded to other video sharing sites such as YouTube.  As well, use MiddMedia when you want to share video clips that are in non-standard aspect ratios.

Once uploaded to MiddMedia, videos can shared by embedding them in any WordPress blog, Segue site, or other website that allows you to insert <embed> code.

For more information about MiddMedia, see: MiddMedia Project Site and LIS Wiki > MiddMedia

YouTube (and other video sharing sites)

There are many video sharing sites on the web.  YouTube is probably the most popular site right now and many faculty, staff and students use it to share their own videos.

Use YouTube if you want to ensure your video clips get the widest distribution.  Keep in mind most video sharing services have limits on the size and quality of your videos.

Adding Video to Segue and WordPress

Video clips can be embedded in Segue and WordPress sites from MiddMedia, YouTube and a number of other video sharing sites.
