Capturing Language in Context
iPod > Capture 00:03:00 (mp3)
Audio recorders are available for iPods that makes it very easy to capture audio in digital form. Once attached, the recorder can be turned on and audio can be captured.
To deliver to students, simply connect the iPod to a computer with iTunes and audio files are automatically downloaded. From iTunes, audio files can be uploaded to a website or can be podcasted to any other networked computer.
(Prior to digital audio capture technology, audio was recorded in analog form using an analog recorder and then converted to digital form. This conversion needed to be done in real time.)
