iPod Feature Requests
In order for iPods to be better suited for Educational purposes, a number of enhancements are being requested here for consideration including extending options in UI for viewing metadata and contextualizing the Voice Memo UI so that memos can be associated with particular audio files. |

Metadata
Currently iPods do not display all the metadata that is available for a given audio track. While an audio track is playing only the audio track title, album and artist. iPod Photo also allows for audio track artwork to be displayed.
Proposal:
The simplest way to allow users to see additional metadata would be to display this when a user clicks the center button 1x while playing an audio track. This proposal would then make is necessary to add 1 click for accessing Scrub and Rating UI’s (audio tracks with art on iPod Photos currently require this additional click since artwork is displayed.)
An alternative proposal would be to make the following options available after 2 clicks (or 3 clicks for iPod Photo):
My Rating
Voice Memo

Rating UI
Currently users can rate audio while a track is playing by clicking center button 2x and scrolling wheel to move add/remove stars…
Proposal:
Rating UI should be one of three options available to users after clicking center button 2x. When the user clicks the center button a 2nd time, the audio track
should pause and these options should be displayed:
My Rating
Voice Memo

Voice Memo
Currently the Voice Memo UI is available when a user attaches a voice recorder (such as an iTalk) or by navigating to the Voice Memo UI from the iPod’s main menu
Proposal:
Voice UI should be one of three options available to users while playing an audio track and clicking center button 2x. When a user clicks the center button 1x, the Scrub UI is displayed.
When the user clicks the center button a 2nd time, the audio track
should pause and these options should be displayed:
My Rating
Voice Memo
Get Info
When a user is recording a voice memo via the UI accessible from a given audio track, the default name of that voice memo should use the following syntax:
<<audio file title>>: <<current date and time>>
An alternative proposal would be to use the following syntax for the default name of the voice memo:
<<audio file title>>: <<current playtime of audio track>>
