XML Google Maps is a WordPress plugin for embedding Google Maps in posts and pages. To use the plugin, do the following:
- Go to your blog Dashboard
- Click on Plugins > Installed
- Activate the “XML Google Maps” plugin
- Click on Settings > XML Google Maps
- Type in a Google Maps API Key (explained in XML Google Maps Options)
Once your Google Maps API Key is activated, you can embed any public Google Map you find on http://maps.google.com/ in any post or page on your site. Here are the steps:
- Go to Google Maps and locate or create a map to use in your site
- Click on “Link” (upper right corner) and copy the “Paste HTML to embed in website” field
- Add or edit a post or page on your site
- Click on HTML tab (upper right corner)
- Paste embed code that you copied from Google Maps
- Click Publish or Update button
