Segue vs. Sakai

Untitled

While Sakai and Segue have similar names, they have very different
approaches to course management.

Sakai uses the traditional approach of
providing a set of tools such as Resources, Discussion, Assignments,
Chat and Dropbox available via a menubar (see: Sakai Help Guide).

In contrast, Segue provides templates for creating a customizable
navigational layout for organizing site content. Discussion,
assignments and dropbox are options available for any given content
block or node in the site (see: Segue Features).

Segue’s
customizable,
hierarchical, granular design and structuring of content makes it an
excellent general purpose content management system for courses and
blogs, archives and exhibitions, collections and research.
